GUWAHATI: Asom Raijik Krishak Sabha (ARKS), the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), the Asom Krishi Shramik Union, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), and Ganatantrik Mahila Samity held a protest on Wednesday against the BJP led government’s anti-labour and anti-farmer policies.

Apparently, in New Delhi, on Wednesday, several other organizations protested against the BJP’s anti-labour and anti-farmer policies. They protested for minimum pay and equal welfare for the workers. In relation to that, the workers’ organization protested here too.

The protesters said that the labourers are always exploited by the government so they remain at the bottom of the social ladder, but the government works in favour of the capitalists. There has been tax relaxation for the corporate sector, which has made the general public suffer. The central government has about 42 lakh vacancies in different departments, but about 60 per cent of people are still unemployed. These posts are either not being filled up or are being closed.
