Outreach programme on GST held on the premises of Gauhati Commerce College

A day-long outreach programme on ‘Introduction and Overview of Goods & Service Tax (GST) and Business/Career opportunities under GST Regime with special reference to Budgetary support in NE India’ was held on the premises of Gauhati Commerce College (GCC) on Wednesday (March 3).

GUWAHATI: A day-long outreach programme on 'Introduction and Overview of Goods & Service Tax (GST) and Business/Career opportunities under GST Regime with special reference to Budgetary support in NE India' was held on the premises of Gauhati Commerce College (GCC) on Wednesday (March 3).

The programme was organized by National Academy of Customs Indirect Taxes and Narcotics, Zonal Campus, Shillong (NACIN-ZC, Ministry of Finance/Department of Revenue, Government of India) in collaboration with Department of Accountancy and IQAC of GCC, stated a release.

The programme started with the opening remarks of Arunita Phukan Yadav, Join Director, and C Songate, Additional Director General of NACIN-ZC, Shillong.

Thereafter a brief speech was delivered by GCC Principal Dr Homeswar Kalita, and HOD of Department of Accountancy Dr Jugal Kishore Barman, which was followed by a two-hour long deliberation by Assistant Commissioner (retired) AM Paul on the topics concerning prominent areas of GST and various career options under the GST regime. The online programme was attended by around 2,100 participants comprising of students and teachers of the college. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks offered by Yadav.
