GUWAHATI: Condemning continued acts of vandalism at xatras and temples across Assam, the Patriotic People's Front Assam (PPFA) has urged the State government to take serious note of the situation as antinational forces are waging a diabolical war against the unique cultural identity of India. The forum of nationalist citizens took seriously the incident at Ganakkuchi Xatra in Barpeta district, in which a miscreant allegedly ransacked the centuries-old Vaishnavite monastery. On September 3 last, the miscreant allegedly sneaked into the sanctum sanctorum of the Xatra and set fire to the holy book Shrimad Bhagawat Geeta and its sacred seat, Guru Aasan, sending shockwaves, PPFA said in a press release.
