GUWAHATI: The Frontier Headquarters, Border Security Force (BSF), Guwahati carried out a plantation drive at its Guwahati campus as well as sub-headquarters and units under command on Sunday.

DIG (PSO) K K Gulia, Guwahati, Frontier of the force inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a sapling in Frontier HQ BSF, Guwahati campus area, supporting the cause of green planet. During plantation drive all Seema Praharis followed the social distancing norms. More than 5,000 saplings of fruit-bearing trees have planted by the troops during the drive.

DIG Gulia, highlighted the environmental issues of afforestation in the present scenario of global warming. He appreciated all for their overwhelming contribution in the plantation drive and re-emphasized the need of realizing the importance of respecting and protecting forest wealth and the rich flora and fauna for future generations, a press release said.
