 GUWAHATI: A two day regional workshop on PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (NMP), organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India commenced today at Guwahati. The objective of the workshop is to promote wider adoption of PM Gati Shakti for holistic planning and bring more vigor and build synergy with all the stakeholders of the PM Gati Shakti NMP.

The workshop was addressed by Anurag Jain, Secretary of DPIIT, Lok Ranjan, Secretary of DONER and Sumita Dawra, Special Secretary of DPIIT.

PM Gati Shakti is a transformative approach which was launched on October 13th, 2021 by the Hon'ble Prime Minister for planning and building Next Generation Infrastructure in the country, thereby, promoting multimodal logistics connectivity to improve both Ease of Living as well as Ease of Doing Business.

The inaugural day of the workshop featured discussions on infrastructure planning for multimodal connectivity with cases from Ministries and Departments at the Center and State levels. Since the launch of PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, concerned Ministries and all States and UTs have been onboarded on mission-mode. Institutional frameworks have been set up, GIS-based individual portals and customised decision-making tools have been developed, along with in-house capacities to adopt PM Gati Shakti principles in project planning and implementation. Presently, data based National Master Plan is being extensively used for project planning and implementation by Ministries at Central level and most States, stated a press release.
