GUWAHATI: Corona sensation seems to have wreaked Geetanagar Police Station following a detenu, Raja Basfor, testing corona positive at Tezpur Central Jail. Basfor was arrested on June 16, 2020 by Geetanagar police and was in lock-up. The arrest was made in connection with a kidnapping case. He was forwarded to Tezpur on June 17. Health workers collected the swab samples of four home guards and one constable of the police station on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Dispur police rescued a girl on June 13 from Tinsukia from her kidnappers. On June 17 she tested corona positive. As many as eight personnel of Dispur Police station are in quarantine.
