GUWAHATI: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), on Wednesday, extended contribution of Rs. 200 crore to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, to fight against coronavirus. Through a release, senior general manager of POWERGRID Shillong AK Borthakur informed that, “Out of the total amount, Rs. 130 crores has already been deposited in Prime Minister Cares Fund and the balance of Rs. 70 crores is being deposited next Financial year: 2020-21.” According to the release, all the employees of POWERGRID have contributed their one-day salary to the Prime Minister Cares Fund towards fighting against the dreaded virus. The organization has also decided to not to recover any amount from the salary payable to the contractual works for the period of their absence during the lockdown period.
