GUWAHATI: The Pratibandi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA) has demanded recruitment of all fourth grade posts reserved for differently-abled candidates in a transparent way in the State by December 31, 2020.

Addressing the media, PSSA secretary Nripen Malakar said, "We demand the State government to spell out the recruitment procedure by December 7. On October 9, 2018 the Cabinet decided to fill up 863 posts with differently-abled people. In accordance with the decision, 352 third grade posts were filled up amidst anomalies, but non-filling of the remaining 511 fourth grade posts as yet is not free from mystery.

"The State-level Police Recruitment Board advertised the filling up of the posts for people with disabilities on December 31, 2018. After questions being raised on the credentials of the State-level Police Recruitment Board, various organizations of people with disabilities had a meeting with the Social Welfare Minister. The meeting decided the Social Welfare department to hold recruitment examinations for people with disabilities.

"We did inform the Chief Minister of the anomalies in the recruitment of third grade examination for people with disabilities. Even as the government has been able to arrest those responsible for the anomalies in the SI-recruitment examination, why couldn't the government act against those responsible for the anomalies in the examination for the recruitment of third grade posts with differently-abled candidates?"
