GUWAHATI: The Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission has sought more information and documents regarding CCE (Combined Competitive Examination)-2014 from the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission).

The State Government entrusted Justice (retd) Sharma to conduct a judicial inquiry into the CCE-2014. The judicial commission started the inquiry on May 23 this year and sought information and documents on CCE-2014 from the APSC to get a clear picture. The APSC gave some documents and information to the judicial commission. The Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma Commissioner feels that the documents and information it has received from the APSC cannot give a clear picture of the CCE-2014. Thus, the commission has sought more documents and information from the APSC.

Through CCE-2014, the APSC selected 180 candidates - 90 ACS, 47 APS, three Labour Inspectors, seven Superintendents of Taxes, seven DTOs (District Transport Officers), three Superintendents of Excise, one Inspector of Labour, one Inspector of Excise and 21 Inspectors of Taxes. In the investigation into the cash-for-job scam in the APSC, the Dibrugarh Police also found anomalies against a few officers of the CCE-2014 batch, leading to their dismissal from jobs by the State Government.
