GUWAHATI: The All Assam Government NPS Employees' Association (AAGNPSEA) announced on Sunday that its members will take out a protest rally from the Gauhati University campus to the Raj Bhawan in Uzan Bazar here in support of their demand for scrapping of the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). According to AAGNPSEA president Achyutananda Hazarika, the date of the protest rally will be decided soon.

Hazarika said that they will start their agitation afresh as the State Government has not called them for discussions regarding their demands as per the deadline of November 30 last set by them. It may be mentioned that the association had earlier carried out a 'Dispur Chalo' agitation on November 8 last in support of the demand for revocation of the NPS through the reintroduction of the OPS.
