Railway Protection Force rescues minor girl in Guwahati

A team of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) rescued a minor girl at the at main entrance gate of Guwahati Railway Station on Friday.

GUWAHATI: A team of the RPF (Railway Protection Force) rescued a minor girl at the at main entrance gate of Guwahati Railway Station on Friday.

RPF sources informed that RPF Lady Head Constable Shikha Gogoi noticed the minor girl in the concourse area of the Station at about 13.30 hours. The girl was reportedly in a distressed condition.

On being asked, the girl stated that she had fled from home and boarded a train. Though she got down from the train at the Guwahati Railway Station. On further interrogation, she disclosed her name as Aparna Das.

It further came to light that the minor girl of 17 years is the daughter of (Late) Sushil Das, who is a resident of Madhupur under the jurisdiction of Amtali Police Station in East Agartala District of Tripura.

But as the rescued girl failed to give any contact number of her parents/relatives, she was brought to RPF Post in Guwahati. After observing all formalities, the rescued girl was handed over to the Railway Childline for her safe custody and further necessary action, added the RPF source.
