GUWAHATI: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will field candidates in the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly election. "If the Congress and the AIUDF agree we will form alliance with them in the coming election," said the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

A press meet was organized by The Rashtriya Janata Dal Assam centre on Saturday at Guwahati. Addressing the press meet, Yadav said, "Five per cent Hindi-speaking population reside in Assam. We got success in 2015 through a grand alliance in Bihar. We're expecting the same here in Assam."

Yadav further said, "The ideology of RSS is only to come in power. They have no connection with the people. The government plays with the Constitution. At a time when the government has to talk about unemployment, poverty etc., they are talking about communal riots in the nation."

The communal forces of Assam should not be allowed to come to power in Assam, he said.
