RBI Deputy Governor Dr Michael Debabrata Patra attends IIBM meet

GUWAHATI: Dr Michael Debabrata Patra, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Chairman, IIBM, Guwahati attended the Governing Board meeting in IIBM, Guwahati on Tuesday.

According to a press release, Patra was accompanied by Jose J Kattoor, Executive Director, RBI, Rajani Prasad, CGM, CSBD, RBI, Ashutosh Upadhaya, DGM, CSBD, RBI and Yogeeta Nitin K, AGM, CSBD, RBI from Mumbai. The other members who attended the meeting were Eugene E Karthak, Director, IIBM, Sanjeev Singha, Regional Director, RBI, representatives from NABARD, Union Bank of India, NESFB, UCO Bank, Indian Bank, NIBM, Pune etc.

The RBI Deputy Governor inaugurated a mural containing the traditional Assamese Japi. This was followed by the Governing Board meeting which deliberated on the activities of the institute. The Deputy Governor emphasized the role of IIBM towards making the North-East region financially inclusive as well facilitating its development. The Deputy Director stated that the Institute is taking several new initiatives on involving the other stakeholders, including the Central and State Governments, and the response has been very positive. The Deputy Governor appreciated the efforts put by the institute and pledged all support from the RBI to it.
