GUWAHATI: The Assam High School Retired Teachers and Employees' Association (AHSRTEA) said that the teachers and employees who got their services provincialized in 2013 and had PF deposits less than Rs 2 lakh would not get a single penny as pension.

The demands of the AHSRTEA, according to its president Prabin Saikia, are - (i) to revert to the old pension system (OPS) and in respect of the provincialized category employees joining service before January 1, 2004, received ad-hoc grants as salary covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

(ii) To bring death-cum-retirement gratuity (DCRG) facility in respect of provincialized category high school teachers and employees by qualifying service counting from the date of receiving ad-hoc grants covered under NPS.

(iii) To fix at least 50 per cent of the last basic pay as the pensionable amount in respect of provincialized employees under NPS till reversion of the OPS.

Saikia said the association would resort to agitation from September this year if the government did not meet its demands.
