GUWAHATI: The State's award-winning filmmaker Rima Das' new Assamese movie Tora's Husband will be screened in the 'Platform' section at the 47th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be held from September 8 to September 18 next. The lead roles in the film have been played by Abhijit Das and Tarali Kalita. Rima Das said that the story reflects her personal journey, especially living and working amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. She added that the film was shot over a period of two years in natural locations. It may be mentioned that Rima Das hails from Chaygaon in the Kamrup district.

Tora's Husband is a story of a man who struggles to keep his small-town business afloat while his relationships deteriorate in the midst of loss and lockdowns.
