RPF of NF Railway rescues 11 persons from stations and trains in two days

429 persons rescued and 16 traffickers apprehended during January to August, 2021

MALIGAON: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) rescued 11persons including minor children and women from trains and stations in different operations conducted over N. F. Railway on 27th and 28th September, 2021.

In an incident on 28th September, 2021 RPF team of Dharmanagar while conducting check at Dharmanagar railway station, rescued two runaway minor boys, resident of Karimganj, Assam and North Tripura. Later, the rescued boys were handed over to Childline, Dharmanagar (Tripura) for safe custody.

In another such incident on 27th September, 2021 RPF train escort party of train No. 02345 UP (Howrah – Guwahati Express special) rescued one girl, a resident of Khalagaon, Bhagalpur (Bihar). The matter was informed to her family members and later, she was handed over to her mother after proper identification.

In the night of 27th /28th September, 2021 CIB Team of RPF/Katihar along with RPF team of Katihar (East) while conducting joint check at Katihar railway station rescued five runaway minor boys; all are resident of Araria district of Bihar. Later, the rescued boys were handed over to Railway Child Line/ Katihar for safe custody and further course of action.

Again on 27th September, 2021 RPF team of Katihar (East), while checking at Labha railway station, rescued one runaway minor boy, a resident of Kishanganj district of Bihar. Later, the rescued boy was handed over to Railway Child Line/ Katihar for safe custody and further course of action.

On that day, Meri Saheli team of RPF Katihar while checking at Katihar railway station rescued one runaway minor girl, resident of Purnea district of Bihar. Later, the rescued girl was handed over to Child Line/ Katihar for safe custody and further course of action.

In another incident on 27th September, 2021 RPF team of Kamakhyaguri while checking at Kamakhyaguri railway station rescued one runaway minor girl resident of Alipurduar district of West Bengal. Later, the rescued girl was handed over to Railway Child Line/ Alipurduar Junction for safe custody and further course of action. It may be mentioned here that the RPF of NF Railway rescued 429 persons including minor children and women during January to August this year. Of them, 69 persons were rescued from being trafficked.

During this period, the RPF of N. F. Railway also apprehended 16 persons involved in human trafficking, stated a press release issued by NFR CPRO, stated a press release.
