Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati appointed Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre director

Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati, an internationally acclaimed Kathak Dance exponent and cultural activist from Assam, has been appointed as the Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Georgetown, Guyana (South America).

GUWAHATI: Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati, an internationally acclaimed Kathak Dance exponent and cultural activist from Assam, has been appointed as the Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Georgetown, Guyana (South America).

Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati has toured his artistic skills across the globe in places like the USA, UK, Guyana, Dubai, Tanzania, Maldives, Germany, Qatar, etc. He was born in Majuli, Assam. Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati has been recognised for his tremendous cultural abilities at the international level. His wife, Pranaame Bhagawati, both together a renowned kathak duo, is also the Director at Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, which is a constituent unit of the Sangeet Natak Akademi under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) is the Indian Cultural Centre of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Georgetown, a cultural wing under the High Commission of India to Georgetown under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India., stated a press release.
