GUWAHATI, Jan 17: The 70th death anniversary of Jyotiprasad Agarwala was observed across the State on Sunday as the Shilpi Divas.

The Government of Assam also organized online Jyoti Sangeet Competition. To take part in the competition, willing contestants can send their performance of Jyotisangeets to mygovassam@gmail.com. The organization "Srijan" also paid tribute to the great artiste on Sunday at Guwahati Press Club. Noted artiste Amiya Mohan Das was honoured with the "Srijan Sanman" on this auspicious occasion.

On the other hand, literary and cultural magazines "Sahityar Subakh" and "Niyoror Phul", and three books- Jibon Bor Anupam by Tirtha Nath Mazumdar, Xumdirir Parei Parei by Dr. Ramesh Kumar Kakati and Sahithyar Subakh by Jurimoni Mudoi were released on the occasion. Noted poet and dramatist Manik Chandra Sonowal was awarded the Sahitya Subakh Award for 2020 and the Jivanjura Sahityar Sadhana Award, 2020 to noted poet and social worker Devraj Kalita.
