'Sadbhawana Yatra' with Tarun Gogoi's ashes from December 9

The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) is going to start a 'Santi Sadbhawana Yatra' with the ashes of former Chief Minister Late Tarun Gogoi from December 9, 2020.

GUWAHATI: The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) is going to start a 'Santi Sadbhawana Yatra' with the ashes of former Chief Minister Late Tarun Gogoi from December 9, 2020. The Yatra will conclude on January 12, 2021.

Talking to the media here on Monday, Congress MP and Late Gogoi's son Gaurav Gogoi said, "The yatra is to fulfill the last wishes of the former Chief Minister. The Yatra to be started in Jorhat on December 9, 2020 will conclude in Guwahati on January 12, 2021.

"APCC's in-charge Jitendra Singh, APCC president Ripun Bora, CLP leader DebabrataSaikia and other leaders will take part in the yatra at Jorhat. On December 10, 2020 a tribute-paying ceremony will also be held at Titabor. After that the ashes of the former Chief Minister will be immersed in the Sadiariver. The yatris will try to cover every district and immerse ashes in rivers there.

"I'll stay away from making any political comment during the yatra. This will let the common people pay tribute to the former Chief Minister wherever they like." On the proposed digital library in memory of the former Chief Minister, the MP said, "We've received nearly 2,000 photos most of which I haven't seen before. Many more photos are on the way."
