GUWAHATI: A protest named Sankalp Satyagraha was organized at Manavendra Sharma Complex, Dispur under the leadership of Congress to express condemn and outrage for the disqualification of the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha. In this united protest, leaders of 11 opposition parties participated besides many social activists and intellectuals to intensify the movement. The leaders came from different parties like AJP, Raijor Dal (Assam), CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), NCP, Jatiya Dal (Assam), AAP, TMC, RJD and Congress.
Addressing the Satyagraha protest, all leaders held Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification to be the ‘murder of democracy’. They also accused that the BJP led government has failed to reduce corruption and price hike, and to prevent people from organizing protest against the government’s failure, the BJP led government has disqualified Rahul Gandhi.
APCC president Bhupen Bora said, “A new fight has started against the BJP rule and to today many political parties have assembled here for this purpose.” The president also invokes popular support to add momentum to this movement.
