Seemanta Chetana Mancha annual convention on December 5 and 6 at Kalakshetra

The Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar, Assam (SCMPA) will hold its 5th Annual State Convention at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on December 5 and 6.

GUWAHATI: The Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar, Assam (SCMPA) will hold its 5th Annual State Convention at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on December 5 and 6.

Addressing the media, SCMPA state president Binita Bhagawati said a large number of delegates from its different committees along with a host of dignitaries from State and national levels are expected to take part in the proposed convention.

said Chief Minister SarbanandaSonowal will attend the inaugural session scheduled to be held from 10:30 am on December 5. The national convener of SeemaJagaranManch, A. Gopal Krishanan will be present throughout the sessions to enlighten the Karyakartas working at various levels of the organization.

The convention's committee president Nabajyoti Bora said to commemorate the occasion, a souvenir, Seemanta 20 will also be released. The theme of the souvenir is Indo-China Relations: Strategies and Challenges. For successful holding of the convention a reception committee has been constituted with Dr. Navajyoti Borah as president and Abhigyan Bordoloi as general secretary. The SCMPA has requested all concerned persons to extend helping hands to make the even a success.

The SCMPA is a socio-cultural, non-political, non-government organization founded in 2008.

The basic motto of the organization is to promote patriotism and nationalism among the people living in the international border areas of the Northeastern region and the State of Assam in particular with an aim to promote sense of safety and security among them.

Assam State Committee of the organization has also been playing a significant role in creating a State level organizational network by constituting district level committees in eight international border districts of the State along with Guwahati Mahanagar Committee and Seemanta Sahayak Nagar Committees in Tinsukia, Margherita, North Lakhimpur, Rangia, Barpeta Road and Bongaigaon.
