GUWAHATI: The Assam Congress is set to organize a series of programmes in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) after conducting campaigns earlier among tea tribes and Adivasi communities: ‘Bagane Bagane’ for the Mishing community; ‘Chang-e, Chang-e’ campaign for the minorities; ‘Char-e, Char-e’.
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has taken a week-long programme called ‘BTR’t Aibaar Congress’ (Congress in BTR this time around). The programme is to be conducted in the second week of December 2023.
The APCC officials said that the whole programme will be under the leadership of APCC president Bhupen Borah. The programme will cover two Lok Sabha constituencies, 15 assembly constituencies, and 40 council legislative assemblies.
The APCC president has constituted an APCC coordination committee for the programme. The committee includes Prabeen Boro as convenor, Garjan Mushahary and Shah Jahan Ali as co-covenors, APCC in-charge office bearers of BTR are members, APCC office bearers hailing from BTR, DCC presidents of BTR, Padma Bahadur Chauhan member, Dipjyoti Sahariya, Pranjit Choudhury, Abdul Berak Ahmed, and Frontal Head of BTR are included in the committee as special invitees.
