Soil testing of new Brahmaputra Bridge underway

GUWAHATI: The new six lane Brahmaputra Bridge has started the soil testing procedure. The bridge is expected to be 1600 meters in land. The land of the main bridge will be 1240 meters of extra dosed cable type with Y-arm of 360 meters. Travel time is expected to be considerably reduced. The beginning point will be Bharalamukh on the South Bank of Brahmaputra and the culmination point will be at NH 31 near Goripur junction on the North Bank of Brahmaputra.
