GUWAHATI: The Beltola Students' Union (BSU), a unit of the South Guwahati Students' Union on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Dispur Circle Officer with a slew of demands. In a release, BSU president Bishnu Kalita demanded resolvement to the various problems faced by the residents of Basistha and Beltola area. Kalita said the people are facing problems due to the bad drainage system, lack of potable water, non functional street lights and poor infrastructure of government schools in the area. He also pointed out that the road at Indira Nagar (Goshala) near the Basistha Mandir is filled with pot holes due to which the residents are having trouble in commuting. Through the memorandum, the union demanded the State Government to construct the Indira Nagar road and initiate measures to solve the problems of the residents.
