GUWAHATI: South Point School, Guwahati, organized 'ROCK FEST 2023', its annual inter-school western music competition, recently. Six school bands participated in it. A panel of judges, comprising Utpal Barsaikia, Mrinmoyee Goswami, and Amitabh Baruah, all eminent musicians from the present and past, judged the performances. South Point School won the best band trophy, and Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti School was the second-best.
Trophies were also presented in other categories like Best Vocalist, Best Lead Guitarist, Best Drummer, Best Base Guitarist, and Best Keyboardist. Certificates of Excellence and Participation were also presented to the budding musicians, a press release said.
