GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF) and Jorabat police jointly launched an operation and arrested two cattle smugglers at Jorabat. They are identified as Md. Samsuddin Ahmed alias Boga (31) and Md. Sahidul Islam (31), both hailing from Dandies village in the Morigaon district. The team also seized Rs 26.50 lakh, one Mahindra Bolero bearing the registration number AS 01 FF 0527, and two mobile phones from their possession. The Assam Police, acting upon a source input developed by DIGP of STF, Assam Partha Sarathi Mahanta, carried out an operation jointly with in-charge of Jorabat Outpost against the cattle smugglers. After arresting the smugglers, the STF handed them and the seized items to the Jorbabat OP in order to register a case under appropriate sections of law and initiate an investigation.
