GUWAHATI: The war against drugs got another shot in the arm when a team from the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police managed to apprehend 12 drug peddlers in a single operation on Monday.
Based on information from reliable sources, a team from STF conducted an operation on Monday at the parking area of Guwahati Railway Station, under Panbazar police station. During the operation, the team apprehended 12 drugs peddlers, including four women. All the arrested offenders were caught red-handed, along with 104 vials with suspected heroin, 275 empty vials, cash amounting to Rs 45,000, two scootys, five mobile phones and syringes, as well as other incriminating materials, sources said. The arrested persons and seized items will be handed over to City Police for necessary legal action, the source added.
