State Bank of India observes 77th Independence Day in Guwahati

The State Bank of India (SBI) celebrated the 77th Independence Day with a series of spirited events and philanthropic initiatives.

 GUWAHATI: The State Bank of India (SBI) celebrated the 77th Independence Day with a series of spirited events and philanthropic initiatives. The day commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony led by Chief General Manager Vincent M. D. The event was further enriched by the recitation of the heartwarming 'Panch Pran' pledge," reaffirming the commitment of SBI to the progress and prosperity of the nation.

SBI organized a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. As part of this initiative, the bank donated packaging machines to the Atma Nirbhar-Ek Challenge, a commendable NGO dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through rehabilitation and employment opportunities. This partnership aims to foster inclusivity and create avenues for sustainable livelihoods.

SBI donated utility vehicles to two distinguished organizations: the Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research and the Uttar Purvanchal Lok Kalyan Samiti. A cultural programme illuminated the Local Head Office in Guwahati, showcasing the rich tapestry of Indian traditions and artistic talents of the bank's staff and their families. SBI also organized a tree plantation drive. Addressing the attendees, Vincent M. D., Chief General Manager of SBI, Guwahati Circle, emphasized the bank's enduring dedication to its CSR endeavours, stated a press release.
