GUWAHATI: The state BJP on Thursday stated that the party is ready for the Lok Sabha polls and that an important meeting with alliance partners AGP and UPPL will be held before Diwali.

Addressing the media at the state party headquarters here, state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita said, “During the tenure of the central government under PM Modi, the people of the country have only seen development. At a time the people are welcoming the BJP with pride, they have rejected the opposition. It is now amply clear that the opposition alliance is a divided house and that they are battling for power. In such a situation, it is certain that the BJP will win in the 2023 Lok Sabha elections and Narendra Modi will be installed as the PM for the third time.”

Kalita also stated that the state BJP is ready for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and they are proceeding to work on their organizational work according to the roadmap provided by the party’s central leadership. He also informed the media that an important meeting with NDA alliance parties AGP and UPPL is scheduled to be held before the advent of Diwali.

Regarding the opposition meet in the city today, the state BJP president opined that they have gathered at Hotel Lily for a picnic only and that they have no time for the people. The people of Assam stand for development and this has been possible only during the time of the BJP, Kalita asserted, adding that the people will not believe anything said by the opposition parties.

Assam minister Jayanta Mallabaruah was present at the party headquarters in the city and he met with the party workers. In reply to a reporter’s question, he said that India is now in “Bharatraj” under PM Modi.
