GUWAHATI: Step-up work especially in the aspirational districts, said SITA (State Rural Livelihood Mission), Assam to officials of ASRLM (Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission). This was stated by the Co-Vice-Chairman of SITA, Assam — Ramen Deka during his review meeting with officials of the ASRLM (Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission) in the Janata Bhawan on Friday. He added that the progress of such schemes will be reviewed after two months

The seven aspirational districts of Assam are Baksa, Barpeta, Darrang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Udalguri, and Hailakandi.

During the meeting, the ASRLM officials were headed by State Mission Director Krishna Baruah.

He delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the activities taken-up by the Mission across the State. In the meeting, the Director presented the activities of the SHGs (Self Help Groups), livelihood-tracking systems, flagship schemes, community-wise producers' groups and their progress, stated a press release.

Taking cognizant of the activities of ASRLM, SITA Co-Vice Chairman Ramen Deka commended the department in its endeavour to uplift rural livelihood. He also told the ASRLM officials to scale up basic non-farm orientation training to SHG members and to take initiative to rehabilitate roadside women vendors by providing them a proper vendors' site for selling their products/goods.
