GUWAHATI: Paw Foundation, an NGO devoted to the services of pet animals, has been carrying out a drive to vaccinate street dogs in Guwahati. On September 8, the NGO vaccinated 46 street dogs and collared them with radiating materials so as to prevent their deaths in accidents. Street dogs dying in road accidents is a very common scene in Guwahati. Such radiating collars can save the lives of many pets by making drivers aware of their presence on roads. Meanwhile, a youth from the Dhirenpara area in the city, Sahid Ahmed, has installed twin bowls at five locations so as to enable people to keep food on them for stray pets. Sahid did install such bowls earlier also, but most of them were stolen. Expressing concern over people stealing bowls kept for stray dogs, Sahid appealed to all to install such bowls for dogs in their respective areas.
