GUWAHATI: Following an appeal made by the All Kamrup (Metro) District Students' Union, all regional students' union of the Kamrup (Metro) on Wednesday burnt effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhusan Choudhury against the government's 'failure' to control the price hike of food materials.

All Kamrup (Metro) District Students' general secretary Dibyajyoti Medhi said the price hike has distressed the public.

"The government has failed to bring relief to the people who were economically affected during the lockdown.
