GUWAHATI: The people of Assam voted for the BJP-AGP alliance in the just-concluded municipal board elections because of the development-oriented agenda of the Government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, says AGP president and State Cabinet Minister Atul Bora.
Taking to The Sentinel on Thursday, Bora said from the very day of its tenure the incumbent Government has been laying a thrust on developmental activities and ensuring that the public gets due service as soon as and as easily as possible. As a result of this policy, people are receiving many services online, he said, adding that the Government will dedicate the remaining four years or so of its tenure for public welfare.
He said that the Government is currently working to fulfil its promise of providing jobs to 1 lakh youths of the State.
Bora expressed his gratitude to the people of the State for having reposed confidence in the BJP-AGP alliance.
Meanwhile, AGP sources informed that their candidates won in 100 municipality wards across the State. Among others, these include 11 wards each in the Barpeta and Bongaigaon municipality boards, six wards in Bokakhat, three wards each in Nazira, Teok, Golaghat, Nagaon, and Kampur.
