Tarun Gogoi's body at Rajiv Bhavan: Thousands of Cong party workers, well-wishers gather to pay their last respect

The public gathered at the spot to see Gogoi for the last time and to pay their last respect to the great leader

Guwahati: The body of the former Assam Chief Minister arrived at Rajiv Bhawan, Congress headquarters in Guwahati.

A huge crowd of Gogoi's well-wishers and supporters were seen waiting for their beloved leader at Rajiv Bhawan. The public gathers at the spot to see Gogoi for the last time and to pay their last respect to the great leader.

Earlier, the body was also taken to Janata Bhavan, Assam Secretariat where, Assam Transport Minister, Chandra Mohon Patowary, Assam Chief Minister's media advisor Hrishikesh Goswami, District commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, MLAs, and legislator of the Legislative Assembly was present at Janata Bhawan to pay their last respect to the departed Congress leader.

The common man lined up the streets of Guwahati as his body was being moved from GMCH to his official residence and then to Janata Bhavan (Assam Secretariat) and Rajiv Bhavan (Congress headquarters in Guwahati).

The body will be next taken to Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, in Panjabari of Guwahati for everyone to pay their last respect to the departed leader. And finally, the body will be kept at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra for the day.

The last rites would be performed on November 26.
