GUWAHATI: Sadou Asom TET Utrrino Shishak Mancha opposed the conditional regularization of contractual and state pool teachers. A general meeting of the TET-qualified teachers of Kamrup (M) and Kamrup was held at Balabhadra Oja Middle English School in Maligaon on Sunday. This meeting was held under the Kamrup district committee of Sadou Asom TET Utrrino Shishak Mancha.

The Mancha opposed the new salary structure in the name of regularizing contractual teachers. The meeting discussed that the teachers have been working for the last 7 to 11 years and are receiving salaries as per ROP. The government is going to deny the previous increment and seniority in the name of regularization, which is a stubborn decision by the government for the teachers. The meeting called on the government to reconsider the decision, which will create chaos financially, mentally, and socially.

The meeting announced that they will be submitting a letter to the Chief Minister on November 20 demanding regularization and pay security. As per the decision taken by the central committee of the Mancha, the district committee decided that they would be staging two-hour protests in front of every Block of Elementary Education Office (BEEO), and through the Block Elementary Education officer, they would be submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister.

The meeting urges the government to provide healthy teaching facilities to the teachers. The meeting was attended by Sadou Asom, TET Utrrino Shishak Mancha president Trailokya Deka, general secretary Kulajit Thakuria, and others.
