Team from National Defence College visits Guwahati Refinery

GUWAHATI: A contingent of National Defence College comprising senior officials from Indian Administrative Service, Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, including officers of foreign nations, visited Guwahati Refinery on Monday, stated a press release.

During the visit, SP Singh, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery, accorded a warm welcome to all the members of the contingent with Assamese gamosa. In the meeting held with Guwahati Refinery management, the team of 16 officials was given a presentation on Guwahati Refinery's operations and installation.

Later, a safety briefing was also made to the contingent. The members of the contingent took keen interest in the Refinery operations and cleared their queries regarding product pattern, product pricing, emission norms, effluent treatment facilities, crude availability and crude type, strategic reserves etc. Later, they also visited the Digitally Distributed Control System (DDCS) room wherein they were explained about the functioning of various process plants like Indmax and IndadeptG, along with other units. During the visit, the team also had an overview of the Effluent Treatment Plant.

Earlier, H Bhattacharyya, Chief General Manager (HR) delivered the welcome address on the occasion.
