GUWAHATI: A tempo driver was arrested for killing an e-rickshaw driver by hitting him with a stone near Odalbakra here. The victim has been identified as Md. Rahizuddin and the tempo driver as Nava Ray.
According to police sources, they were engaged in a heated argument over taking up passengers, during which the tempo driver hit him with a stone and Rahizuddin was severely injured. He was taken to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.
A case (41/2023) has been registered at the Fatasil Ambari police station. Nava Ray has been produced before the CJM Court today. The court sent him to judicial custody.
