GUWAHATI: With the demand to regularize their jobs, the All Assam Primary TET Passed Teachers’ Union sat for a meeting with Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya on Wednesday.
The Union informed that the meeting was conducive with the Education minister stating that regularization will be done as per the documents and qualification of the teachers. There are approximately 40,000 contractual teachers appointed at various schools in the State. The Union held various meetings at the secretarial level with officers of the education department with their demand, however, those meeting never yielded any results. As such, the Union had to finally approach the Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
