Three electric vehicles introduced at LGBI Airport, Guwahati

In order to contribute more towards environment sustainability as a part of Green Airport Initiative Programme, LGBI Airport, Guwahati has introduced three new electric vehicles for operation.

PALASBARI: In order to contribute more towards environment sustainability as a part of Green Airport Initiative Programme, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Guwahati has introduced three new electric vehicles for operation. It will enhance the efforts of the airport towards net zero emission target.

LGBI Airport has taken various such initiatives and is very soon going to start the EV charging station at cityside as well as Airside. Various key initiatives are under progress to make the airport eco-friendly and introduction of electric vehicles is one of such initiative. All the stakeholders have been requested to develop plans for the replacement of existing conventional fossil fuel-operated vehicles (petrol, diesel based) with electric vehicles for all the airport operation activities. By 2024, LGBI Airport is striving to become carbon neutral, said an airport spokesperson.
