GUWAHATI: PWD officials informed that a wooden bridge facing toward Panjabari has been constructed over the Six Mile flyover to prevent accidents till the completion of Six Mile flyover, since the flyover repairing may take more 4 to 5 months. However, traffic congestion is being experienced due to the small wooden bridge and incompletion of the flyover, and many local establishments have demanded the completion of the overbridge at an earliest time.

The repairing works of the bridge give way to traffic congestions in the peak hours, also creating troubles for the ambulance services. According to sources, the repairing of the overbridge started one year ago, and the work has been assigned to M/S Gautam Construction with an estimated amount of Rs. 5 crore.
