GUWAHATI: Under the guidance and supervision of its president Angoorlata Deka, the two-day State Training Session of Mahila Morcha, Assam held at the SIRD premises ended here on Sunday.

According to a press release, around 200 women from different parts of the State attended the training session, which was inaugurated by State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita.

In his speech on the occasion, Kalita said that creation of good and efficient karyakartas is the key objective of the training session.

Akani Devi, national executive member of Mahila Morcha, took the chair of training in-charge in the session. The event was also attended, among others, by both the general secretaries of the State BJP, Diplu Ranjan Sharma and Pulok Gohain, along with spokesperson Ranjeev Kumar Sharma and vice president Ajay Konwar.

Moreover, the training programme was also attended by Cabinet Ministers Pijush Hazarika and Jayanta Mallabaruah.

The list of delegates included Pradip Thakuria, chairman of the Senior Citizen Welfare Council, Simantani Baruah, advocate, Umi Deka, advocate, Queen Oja, MP of the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency, Dr Aishwarya Biswal, secretary of the national Mahila Morcha and Prabhari of the Mahila Morcha, Assam Pradesh.

The event was also addressed by Basishtha Bujarbaruah, Sah Kshetra Pracharak of RSS Assam Kshetra.

Angoorlata Deka delivered the valedictory address where she spoke about how the training session will help in terms of women empowerment.
