GUWAHATI: Two incidents of daylight robbery, with the frequently-repeated modus operandi of snatching gold necklaces from women at gunpoint, occurred in the city on Monday. In the first incident Pragati Nagar in Satgaon here, a woman named Tutumoni Rabha was robbed of her gold necklace at gunpoint by two motorcycle-borne miscreants. According to police sources, the woman was walking on the road when she was robbed. When she raised the alarm, one of miscreants threatened her with a county-made pistol and fled the spot.
In the second incident at Gandhibasti here, a woman named Gultaj Begum was also robbed of her gold chain by two motorcycle-borne miscreants. Police sources said that one of the robbers threatened an autorickshaw driver with a pistol when the latter tried to help Gultaj Begum.
