2 Persons Arrested with 835 gm Gold in Guwahati

The Bharalumukh Police arrested two persons with 835 grams of gold from the Bharalumukh area on Tuesday.

GUWAHATI: The Bharalumukh Police arrested two persons with 835 grams of gold from the Bharalumukh area on Tuesday. The accused - Manoj Shah and Arman Ali are residents of Nagaon and the police have also seized Rs 8 lakh from their possession.

Following interrogation of the duo, the Bharalumukh Police grilled a Sub Inspector and another person. The SI was working as GRP (Government Railway Police) personnel at the Guwahati Railway Station for the last two years. Recently, he was appointed as a GRP in charge. The police have also seized a car from the duo with which they visited the city.

Meanwhile, till the time of filing this report, a team of police was on their way to Nagaon to conduct an investigation. In this regard, the Bharalumukh Police has registered a case — 479/21 u/s 379/411.

It is to be noted that the inter-district movement has been restricted due to the COVID situation, now a question has arisen as to how did the duo enter the city?
