New Delhi: Two Rhinos from Assam state zoo have been shifted to Ashfaqullah Zoo in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
As per the reports, both the rhinos are 5-year-old and they started their journey on Monday morning and covered a total 1,250 kms distance to reach the Gorakhpur.
These Rhinos were brought in separate truck and as of now, they will be kept in quarantine for a few days before they allowed making public appearance.
In a bid to facilitate the process, a seven-member team from the UP Zoo, including wildlife specialist Yogesh Singh had visited Assam on Friday.
The Gorakhpur zoo has created a separate enclosure for the Rhinos and their health will be regularly monitored during the quarantine.
The Gorakhpur Zoo will celebrate its first anniversary on March 27.
