GUWAHATI: The AJP (Assam Jatiya Parishad) has demanded the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)-led Assam government to keep their 'election promise' and unconditionally waive the microfinance loans taken by the women of the State.
AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi said, "During the political campaigns, then Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that the microfinance loans will be waived if the BJP comes to power. Thus, the government should keep their promise and rescue the people by waiving the microfinance loans unconditionally."
