GUWAHATI: A webinar on 'Oxygen Enrichment Technologies and Financial Assistance from SIDBI for MSMEs in Assam' was organized by SIDBI in association with the Government of Assam and Grant Thorton Bharaton for the MSMEs of the region on Wednesday. Professor Harish Hirani, Director, CSIR-CMERI, was the key speaker and delivered a detailed presentation on the CSIR-CMERI indigenously developed oxygen technologies, optimized handling of medical oxygen and handing over the technologies to MSMEs. The webinar was attended by M. Sreenivasulu, SIDBI-PMU Manager, Assam, P.S. Manoj, Deputy General Manager, SIDBI, Kolkata and RO Guwahati, Himang Dip Dasgupta, among others.
Professor Harish Hirani shared that CSIR-CMERI developed Arsenic and Iron Removal Technology has already benefitted Assam and thereafter gave a brief overview of the advantages of Oxygen Therapy. Oxygen Therapy is great as a Non-Invasive Therapy and can also help in faster healing of wounds owing to its Anti-Microbial effect. He further shared that our Medical Community can save a whopping 30% of medical oxygen through innovative oxygen administering methodologies.
CSIR-CMERI after intensive research and observation developed the Oxygen Enrichment Technology which is premised upon the concept of an alternative methodology. This technology is far above in terms of performance and reliability when compared with Oxygen technologies available in the markets. This Technology in combination with NIV masks is veritable protection against transmission. It can be used as a Bedside Oxygen delivery system for 10 bedded facilities can also be deployed with a range of up to 10 LPM per bed and an overall capability of 100 LPM with an enrichment capability of 90%-96% range, stated a release.
The representatives of the various MSMEs also requested a separate webinar on the CSIR-CMERI 'Municipal Solid Waste Management Technology' in the near future, for their awareness.
