GUWAHATI: DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said that the police would modernize 100 police stations in the state under the Moitri Scheme. He said that Assam Police would inaugurate a 1,400-bed barrack at Khanapara in Guwahati within two months. "We have applied to NF Railway for a plot of land for the Geetanagar Police Station. We will reconstruct the Satgaon Police Station," he said and thanked Hero Motocorp, which provided 315 motorbikes to the Assam Police. The police gave the bikes to 35 districts to reach border areas.
