GUWAHATI: A tragedy was averted when a woman who fell into the river Brahmaputra was rescued here on Wednesday. According to sources, the woman had gone to see immersion of the idol of Goddess Durga in the Kachamari Ghat, but slipped and fell into the river. However, a man immediately jumped into the river and rescued her. The woman has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
