CM: STATUS QUO WILL REMAIN

GUWAHATI: We will never allow any change in the nomenclature of the LGBI (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International) Airport. Stating this here on Wednesday, AASU (All Assam Students' Union) president Dipanko Kumar Nath and its general secretary Shankarjyoti Baruah said jointly in a press release on Wednesday, "The Centre and the State government must give a clarification on the advertisement in the name of 'Adani Guwahati International Airport' released jointly by the AAI (Airport Authority of India) and the Adani Airport on the proposed work in LGBI.
"We also demand that the Government of Assam must ensure the interests of local people of the State in this entire project.
CM CLARIFIES: Reacting to the issue on the LGBI Airport, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma clarified before the media on Wednesday, "No one will be able to change the name of LGBI Airport. The status quo will remain."
