World Braille Day: Spectacles distributed among students of Pandu Adarsha HS School

In view of the World Braille Day 2020, Higher Education Department Chief Secretary B Kalyan Chakraborty distributed spectacles among 33 students of Pandu Adarsha Higher Secondary School who have vision problems.

GUWAHATI: In view of the World Braille Day 2020, Higher Education Department Chief Secretary B Kalyan Chakraborty distributed spectacles among 33 students of Pandu Adarsha Higher Secondary School who have vision problems.

The programme was organized by National Health Mission (NHM) in association with District Health Society, Kamrup (Metro) under the National Programme for Control of Blindness.

Out of the total students, 20 were from Pandu Adarsha Higher Secondary School and 13 were from Gopal Boro Government Higher Secondary School.

National Programme for Control of Blindness State project officer Kumud Saikia, National Child Health Programme officer Geetima Deka, State project officer of Education Department Parly Fariza Umme Kulsum were present in the programme, among others.

It is to be mentioned that since December 3, 2020 to January 4, 2021 the mobile health team has visited 107 schools in the city. During their visit, the team has examined the eyes of a total of 5,897 students.
